We are happy to be hosting this year a BIPOC Affinity retreat at Smith Rock in collaboration with our friends from Corvallis Climbers of Color and with the sponsorship of Arc’teryx Portland. During the weekend we will camp, climb together and build community.
All Clinics will be guided by AMGA certified instructors.
This clinic is intended to provide students with the foundational skills of outdoor rock climbing. Modules include theory and practice sessions to allow safe, sufficient and varied practice.
This course focuses on the technical skills needed to lead routes and protect your partners in an outdoor rock climbing environment. During this clinic, students will be able to mock-lead climbs, practice clipping and rope management and learn how to build anchors and rappel.
During these two days you will have the opportunity to climb moderate routes at smith rock (5.9 to 5.10D). Day one will focus on sport climbing and face climbing techniques. Day two will focus on crack climbing. Routes will be technical and challenging.
While Tuition is reduced for every participant, we will be offering scholarships for those who need them.

Plan to be at the Park around 7AM on Saturday the 29th to meet your instructor. Campsites will be available the night before for students that want to drive ahead of the clinic (recommended). More details will be provided after sign up.
We will have an online meeting with participants and instructors in June 13th to answer questions and talk about logistics
